Copy this single-block briefing into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any coding agent so it ingests /llms.txt, configures the MCP connection and chooses the right tool parameters.
Help me connect and use fieldlookup (https://fieldlookup.com), a remote streamable HTTP MCP service with bounded public business and community data tools. Read https://fieldlookup.com/llms.txt first (fallback: https://fieldlookup.com/docs) for full input constraints, return fields, quotas and authentication. MCP endpoint: https://fieldlookup.com/mcp using header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" (or OAuth 2.1 S256 PKCE, which can also create a Free account at consent). Available tools (1 to 25 compact records per call, default 10): find_businesses(query, max_results?, location), find_shopify_stores(query, max_results?, country?), find_suppliers(query, max_results?), search_reddit(query, max_results?, subreddit?, sort?, content_type?). If a call returns status running, call get_result(job_id) until it returns the records. Ask what I want to look up or which MCP client I use, keep raw API keys out of chat when a local config file or secret store is available, and configure or call the matching tool.

Connect your client
Get an instant Free key or purchase a paid plan. These are setup examples for MCP clients that support remote streamable HTTP; compatibility with specific clients or versions has not been tested.
MCP URL: https://fieldlookup.com/mcp · Authentication: Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY. Keep keys out of shared configuration and version control.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http public-data https://fieldlookup.com/mcp --header 'Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY'Run in your shell with your key substituted.
Claude Desktop
For Desktop configurations that launch local MCP servers, add this to your MCP configuration. This optional bridge needs Node.js and downloads the third-party mcp-remote package when run.

}Where remote connectors are available, add the MCP URL in the client and sign in with OAuth.
Cursor
Add to your MCP configuration, for example .cursor/mcp.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"public-data": {
"url": "https://fieldlookup.com/mcp",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"
}
}
}
}Generic MCP client
{
"transport": "streamable-http",
"url": "https://fieldlookup.com/mcp",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"
}
}This is a transport description; adapt field names to your client. OAuth clients can discover the authorization server from the MCP resource metadata, register dynamically and use authorization code with S256 PKCE.
OAuth 2.1 authorization is available for every plan. The client sends you to this service for consent; enter your API key only there, or create a Free account on the same page. Client versions differ; see authentication details.

After payment, POST the saved pair to /billing/claim. Save api_key immediately; it is returned once. If payment confirmation is pending, retry the same pair shortly.

Questions
Quota rules, spend caps, data freshness and subscription cancellation.
What counts toward my allowance?
Each successful tool call counts once, even with zero matches. Discovery and failed calls do not consume the successful-call allowance. Rate limits still apply to attempts.
Can I control overage?
Yes. Paid Checkout defaults to zero additional calls. Choose a cap up to 5,000 additional calls per billing period. Calls stop at the included allowance plus your cap.
Are results complete or verified?
No. Public data can be missing, outdated or inaccurate. Check important details and use any business contact data lawfully.
How do I cancel?
Contact support to request cancellation at the end of your current period. There is no self-service cancellation portal on this site.
